Captured
Cynnamon Schreinert
Time stands still
as you smile.
The snow remains the same.
Ice skates balanced on a hook,
did you skate that day?
The look on your face gives me the feeling of déjà vu.
I’ve seen it all my life.
Whenever I look in the mirror it’s you and I, I see and not just me.
The coat you wear will always be new, never aging;
just as you don’t.
A brief second captured forever on film never changing,
even though you do.
